I am ready to do my stage one upgrade. Right now the bike is completely stock, but for a set of fishtail slip-ons. I need advice on a high flow intake before I order my tuner. The key is the intake must maintain my stock cover. The bike is an Anniversay model and I want to maintain the cover. So what is the most popular intake upgrade? K&N, S&S, Scramin' Eagle........? What are people using and why?
Have the Ness Big Sucker. Got it with the plain chrome cover on EB for about $140. K&N element (not in profile pic). Not a big fan of the football cover.
Thanks guys. Yeah, the S/E is a good option, and easy to get! How88, I have the Anni Model with the bronze Anni logo and ring, so I really want to keep the stock cover. Yeah, they are not the best looking option, but its part of the package.
IMHO get one that will allow you to vent the rocker boxes outside of the TB.
No more mess when you vent down the frame tube behind the tranny. There is supposed to be a small performance gain too...
Ness is cheapest comes with K&N. SE, well its HD. Fuelmoto is billet. All ya need and the cover works fine with all of them. Me? I'm cheap, my Ness works fine. Think I'm on my third or fourth one??

They all perform about equally. Since you're looking to add a tuner too, consider Fuel Moto. They usually have a package deal AC/tuner that may save you some money. Their products and service are excellent, and they will ship with the correct map for your set-up.
If you don't see the package on the web site...call and ask about it. They are sponsors on this forum.
