Just curious at what speed is 7th gear useful? I know with my stock 6 speed, 6th gear is useless at anything under 75 MPH.

7 is the same as 6th in the cruise drive, they're both 1:1 First thru 6 are lower and closer.

Not a big prob, dont use cruise in town.

On a bike I associate lots of gears with a narrow power band, not the wide range of torque a well tuned Harley has. I can see the attraction of a DD6, but wow the price (especially here in the UK)!
One ride with a Baker and get out your credit card!! haaaaa
Just come over and put it in your suitcase, like you do tools, computers and clothes!!
I work with a company from UK and well..........it seems it happens.

What year your bike? Harley changed the rear pulley from 2007-2009 66 tooth to a 68 2010 up? dont quote me on the years. BUT when you get the Baker it changes 1-6 minus 10%, 7th is the same=1-1.
If you have a 66 tooth try a 68 doesnt sound like much but it does make a diff.
I have a 13 and am thinking of changing to a 66 tooth. I will still be 7% lower 1-6 and 3% higher in 7th. good for trips and some speeding.....

Stock 07/08 is 32T front 66T rear for final of 2.79:1 or 65 mph @ 2438...changed to 68T rear in '09

Have you tried to travel through US Immigration etc as a Jonny Foreigner?! And if they don't get ya with several pounds of steel stuff in ya bags, the UK lot will......... As for the air fares.......

One HDF member, with a monster motor, points out that a five speed is all that is required when we have plenty of performance. On the other hand, travelling through Alpine hairpin bends a low first gear is certainly a good idea, when at or around the GVWL, so a DD6 geared close to a stock 5-speed in top gear could be good.
