I carry three of the fold-up kind; two with all the allens (metric & SAE) and one with Torx. Very compact so they don't take much room.

What I do is annually or more often methodically check tightness of every fastener I can reasonably expect to need to fool with on the road, and make a list of the drivers. Then I raid my tool chests to outfit my bike tool bag from the list. Plus, I bring a credit card.
