I went with the Boom audio upgrade (amp and two speakers for the batwing only). Choose because I had very limited install knowledge of bike audio systems and there is currently no service manual for the new 2014s (although may be out now). Easy to install and I am more than pleased with the investment and sound.
Is there better equipment...OMG yes...just like with every single piece aftermarket & OEM Harley upgrade parts...
DID IT WORK WITHOUT THE REQUIRED HD AMPLIFIER FLASH? i installed mine last night and not getting any sound? figured it need the flash?
I know some of the folks here beat up on J & M but Johns ROKKER line is all plug and play and I'm going with his 250W amp which is set up out of the box to work with the 2014 head unit and his new 6.65 fairing speakers which are a direct plug and play replacement and grabbed the cyber Monday 20% discount.

I'm sure someone has...but I won't touch that boom crap. Over priced, and underpowered. Check out the sticky at the top of the audio forum I started on 2014 audio upgrades. It will fill you in on some of the new things were dealing with with the new boom box head units. I'm installing biketronics speakers Titan 6.5's into my fairing pods and a biketronics 4180 amp into the fairing. Probably polks in the rear pods for now. I think someone else on the forum has gone with kicker speakers and an Arc amp. Check out the thread.
Had BOOM crap on my RKC ... amp went a month after the warranty ... there is WAY better plug and play stuff out there for WAY less than the overpriced BOOM stuff ..... cheers
I am willing to bet we are going to get harpooned over discussing Boom audio...but if dealer install/warranty is a priority, by all means press forward....
I like the warranty thing and think this is the path I will take (for now) I had an Arc set-up on my 09 street glide and it was very good, so if Arc comes out with a 4 channel that will fit in the faring of my 14 limited before I save enough $ for the Boom Amp I will go that way. For now I am thinking Boom Amp with stock speakers.
