I am looking at adding a 4 channel amp to my 2010 Ultra. I currently have the HD Boom speakers in it front and rear. Has any one added an aftermarket amp with the Boom speakers?
The HD Boom amp is not an option. Its too expensive and requires a dealer download to work. I'm not paying a dealer for any part of my stereo install.
I think my options are the RF PBR300x4, Arc KS125.5 Mini, J&M Performance 360W or the Hogtunes NCA40.4 amp. Anyone running these with the Boom speakers?
I'm looking pretty hard at the RF PBR300x4 but I've heard it has some heat issues. I'd like to know more about that.
I'm running the Biketronics 4180 amp with Biketronics 7.1 speakers in the fairing and Polk MM 651 in the fairing lowers and it is loud! Biketronics amp is not too big either.
I just installed the SoundStream 4.520D today. Running Kenwoood head unit and Alpine 6 1/2 in the fairing and the lowers. This thing just cranks!!! I did not expect it to be this good. Think I went partially deaf while I was fine tuning it...
The SS is a class D amp, so it's hit or miss with FM reception. I don't have any issues with FM, but I don't listen to the radio that often. If you pick up a Soundstream amp, I would suggest picking up the 4.1000D. It's rated for 140w x 4 at 4 ohm. Way too much amp for your speakers, but could rock a set of BT 7.1's!!!!!
If ya are gonna try and keep those crap speakers ya don't need/want a lot of power. I think Alpine has a good small little amp and Kenwood just came out with one too. Just make sure they are good below 2 ohms. http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_...-KACM3004.html
