I have lifted two softails, a Dyna and a Road Glide CVO. I have not found that I lose one oz. of fuel capacity. I have the HD optional tach/speedo in the 10 Dyna Superglide. I ran it to almost empty three times as the unit would recalibrate the fuel settings and it almost is where it was with the stock location of the tank.

The angle is not significant enough to limit the amount of fuel when topping off.

But what about raising the center of gravity on the bike it will make the bike more top heavy which is what you do not want .

Default It did nothing

The temp on my 2015 Dyna wide glide on a 90 degree day would be 270 to 280 with no tank lift. So, I installed this 2 1/2" tank lift and took it out for a try. When i got back from a 45 min ride. The temp was reading 270 degrees. That was from the constant temp read from my Vance and Hines FP3. Intake air temp was reading 145 deg with The Arlen Ness Big Sucker air cleaner.

No tank lift here, 09 Ultra Classic, but when I got on the freeway Saturday mid-afternoon I couldn't understand why my arms were burning. Got home & checked official temperature & it was 116°?!! So if she didn't blow up on me that day I think I'm done with looking at fans, oil coolers & tank lifts.

When I see a bike with a tank lift, I think of the Yamaha Virago.

Sorry...

I took some thin steel I had hanging around, and made a inch and a half lift. It looked okay, didn't notice much difference in temps, but the downside I discovered was that the gas gauge was no longer very accurate, and getting the seat on was a real problem. I had to bend the tang on the tank up to get the seat on. I ended up taking it off, and bending the tang back down to stock, and removing the lift. It did look kinda cool, though. Bike is an '08 FLHT, btw.

Agreed on fuel capacity. My FLHT carried the same amount of fuel, lifted or not,, just the gauge read a little inaccurately, is all. Annoyance, but not a real problem.
