IMO the tank lift looks great on Dynas and Sportys. Really opens up the engine area giving it a "chopped" look. Haven't seen a good pic of one on a touring bike. I'm really interested in seeing what it would look like on my SG though. Can someone post a pic of a touring model with a 2" lift?
Got the 2" tank lifts, on my 05 Road King Custom FLHRSI from DK Customs. They do keep the engine noticably cooler!
Just take off seat, drain the tank of fuel into 5 gallon gas tank, take off hose* and clamps (on the front) off tank, (on both sides) loosen all tank mounts, (front and back) remove front tank mounting bolts, lift tank up to install tank lifts, reassemble tank mount bolts (on tank) with blue locktight, tighten them up! Get some more fuel line at the auto parts, install left side hose onto fitting, (it's just a hose that connects both sides.) Cut fuel line to length, then install fuel line and tighten (with hose clamps) on right tank front fitting.
* CAUTION: If you take off one of the hose clamps from front tank connecting hose, the gas will come out from hose and fitting, so be careful. Better to siphon gas out of tank first (with manual pump) to remove fuel.
