Default Touring Shock Year Differences

Hey all,

I have a 1990 FLHTCU and was considering buying & installing some shocks from a Street Glide. I've noticed that some vendors state '97 & newer for the air assist shocks they are selling.
All the stock touring shocks look pretty standard, is there any reason I cannot put the Street Glide shocks on my ride or am I missing something?

Thanks in advance.

I'm not sure about the years but if you just want to get a little lower stance try a 1" lowering block. I've had modified ( shorter ) shocks made and ran them on my 09 Street Glide but they were even rougher then the stock Street Glide shocks. I just put a set of Pingel 1" lowering blocks on my 14 Limited, I flat foot better and I still have a smooth ride.

Go to the Evo forum, and ask. One of the members there, grbrown has a 1990 FLHS that he has customized quite a bit. He should be able to tell you exactly what may or may not fit.
