I added the HD CB to my FLHTC 2007 and i use it all the time... i like the music in my modular helmet also. Several in my riding club have them and we use it all the time..Maybe eventually i will look at bluetooth but it's not very practical yet...Sure if you are just a few riders like a couple then bluetooth is great but if you have several like 6-10 then i think CB is Better...There are add ons that let you use blutooth headsets and take/make phone calls but i don't want to talk on the phone when i am riding...

I use the CB a LOT. HOG rides, so 25 - 35 bikes are common, and we need to communicate intentions from the front to the back, etc ... The 2014 Limited has it standard. One member bought a new tri-glide, and it didn't come standard - cost a fair bit to add it back in - they were not pleased ...

I have only used the CB to talk to other similarly equipped bikes. Very useful for that.

I bought the Limited because they discontinued the CB as a standard item on the Ultra. I very rarely talk on it but I usually have it on when taking road trips. Its come in handy for avoiding some traffic jams. I don't care to be wired to the bike or the way the headset mounts to my half helmet. In the past I used the handheld mic but unfortunately this no longer works on the '14.

Don't get me wrong I would love a wireless headset that works with my stereo and intercom but not enough to throw a bunch of money at the idea when I already have something that works.

Asked the stealer about fitting intercom and CB to my new Street Glide....was told you can hard wire the rider to the 4.3 but there is no hard wire link available for the passenger..( using scala G4 meantime )..so have to wait till next year to install the 6.3 as have already spent a shed load of $ on mods....CB great for HOG Chapter ride outs.

True story.

Heading to Sturgis from Charleston my then wife and I got stopped and overheated in Nashville traffic. The oil temp was pegged (350) on both bikes with no where to stop (barriers on left and right). Finally spotted a little section about 4 foot wide off to the right and we shut down the bikes there.

We both had CB and while waiting for the bikes to cool I left mine on and for about 30 minutes listened to the truckers talk about, "Hey watch to the right, nice looking bikes parked on the road". Then...... it was, "Hey holy hell look at that chick in that tight shirt." Then cat calls etc etc etc. They had no idea we were listening to them. haha

I finally jumped on the channel and said, "alright all you dirty bastards this is the big dude standing next to the chick, ya'll settle down".
We laughed and laughed and laughed.

Once we got out of traffic it was no crap 4 hours of truckers beeping their horns at us and telling us to be safe.

CB... yeah. Good stuff.

I like my cb but the bikes I ride with don't have a cb. We have a sena system and really like it. You have to remember to charge it before you ride.

And a wired headset for communication? Why not bluetooth? I feel like I am going backwards trying to find suitable headsets to add for myself and bride.

What setup are others using?
Just speaking for myself, I like the wired intercom system because it came with the bike, there is nothing to charge up, and I can use it or not use it. As far as the CB goes, I have not used it in a car or truck for years (still have a couple laying around) but I have used it many times on the Limited for help with traffic and to have comms with other bikes on group rides, very handy.
