how about going with the cvo front fender? you can order it primed and have it painted to match. it gives a 'slimmer' look, is closer to the rubber by about 3/4'', and will still retain some of the stock look while at the same time showing off more of your wheel.
If I go 21 in front with a wrap around fender, does that effect my ride? I ride a lot of miles. It's nothing to come home with 300 miles after being out for the day. Does it take the bumps OK? I don't wanna make an "ice cream bike" out of it, if you get my drift.
No it doesn't affect your ride at all. Thats a 21 in my signature pic on my SG and I ride the hell out of it with no issues or concerns and I too put on a lot of miles a year.
I use to use a wrapper fender with the tour pack on but now I only install it in the summer when all the lower fairings and tour pack are back off, just didn't look right to me. Maybe if it was lowered in the front with a 21" , but my vote would be a SG fender.

Curious when you guys change out the front wheel for some really cool looking larger wheel do you just leave the stock wheel on the back since its hidden by the bags and pipes anyway... would seem like a waste to put a 1K wheel where it cant be seen.
ejvette --- That's what I think I'll be doing --- front only. Just because I have stretched bags, and the wheel is mostly hidden. If I still had stock bags, I'd probably do both.
I replaced my rear rim and tire. I went with a 18/200 and replaced the stock 16/180. I didn't think you could see it, but you can and I know that I have a matching set. Had a lot of compliments on the set up.

Trust me you can still see it even with some of the more extreme stretched bags. Plus knowing how I am being attention to detail it would bother me if I didn't do the rear wheel. But to each his/her own.
Dunno about you, but I can see the rear wheel regardless of how much of it is "hidden." I have many customers who opt for a front only. Some call back alter and order a matching rear, some do not. Other else expensive options for teh rear include doing a chrome exchange for a stock rear wheel or powder coating the stock wheel all back if you are getting black wheels.
I think having a really nice after market wheel on the front makes the ugly stock wheel stand out more. Is it worth it to spend the extra on the matching rear? That all depends on you and your pocket book.
My last RG had matching wheels with stretched bags and you could still see the rear wheel. I bought the bike all done already, but for me and my tastes having both wheels match make sense. Doing only the front is like wearing dress pants with a tank top only and forgetting your button down shirt, tie, and jacket.
