I researched this last month, both here and in other publications. The consensus is that this primary adjuster is very noisy among other issues. When I change my comp, I think I'm going to go with the Baker.

Are you talking about the SE manual adjuster? http://www.harley-davidson.com/store...nsion-adjuster ..... do you really want to open your primary every time you need to make an adjustment to your primary chain? It's made for large displacement drag bikes.
I am running it, have a few thousand miles on it and it is indeed noisy at idle. I like the design but not the noise, will slacken it a notch and see if it is quieter.

Behind the scenes, it is said to be an upgrade to correct for deficiencies in the stock tensioner which tends to ratchet the chain up too tight.

But it's not an automatic adjuster like the 88 twincams had..... you have to open up the primary and adjust the chain, by hand like the old days like the 88 twincams.

Go with the baker. I have no experience with the SE but rumor has it they are noisy. I had the Hayden and it made my chain waaay to tight and caused vibration as well as whine. I tossed it in the garbage. I just installed the baker and looks to be a top notch product. Quiet no vibration and no worries.
