This is pretty standard with most all slip-ons. Some of the baffle packing blows out. Even the V&H basic slip-ons I had on my 04 EGC got louder after I put some miles on them.
11,800 miles on mine now, sound just as good. There is NO packing around the baffles on mine. Had em both out to tighten/locktight the baffles.
Mine just showed up yesterday on the big brown truck around 5:30 pm, already had the stock pipes off and was ready and waiting. Pipes look very nice, went with the "long" slash up. Install was a little more difficult than I hoped for as the mounting brackets do not have the nuts spot welded to them - not fat finger friendly.
Also, the pipes do not have the factory "dent" to clear the swingarm. The left side was fine as is, but the right side was actually touching the adjustment nut on the swingarm. Tried to move it around and twist it to get more clearance but could only get about 1/16", so out came the ball peen hammer, took a deep breath and a few swings later had a clearance dent. There was another discussion about this on another thread too, so I'm not the only one.
Have the bike tore down to install my PCV and stage 1 intake that I just picked up today from Fuel Moto so I can't hear the pipes yet. It's about 90 degrees here today too, so I probably won't get everything buttoned up until tomorrow
