Would a stock 2010 Road King Classic have 12" or 13" shocks? I just bought a set of stock take off shocks, listed as 13" units but they seem to be the same as the stock shocks on the bike. I unbolted one of the original shocks and set them side by side. The one off my bike is on the left.
Should 13" shocks be longer? When I put a tape measure against them they seem to be about 12.5" from center to center of the mounting holes. I could be off a little eyeballing the tape from the side but they are definitely the same size.
Right now I don't know if the RKC already has 13" shocks standard or whether my shocks are wrong or whether the static height is supposed to be the same and the difference is internal.
I believe the road king classic comes with 13 inch shocks, the road king custom
had the 12 inch shocks.
It looks like you just bought the same shocks you already had..
Sucks to make a $100 mistake. I just looked at a parts catalog and the RKC shows the regular length shocks. I don't know where I got the idea that they were the shorter units.
If I can keep my mistakes down in the $100 range I'll be OK, lol.
