I just got this 2010 FLHTK and it came with a SE Supertuner pro little orange box. So what did I do? I went and bought the cables and downloaded the software. Now where do I plug this thing into my bike so I can poke around a little and see what I've got. Is the plug under the seat? There is one there with a rubber cap that fits the SE cable. I plugged into it but I don't get a connection status with the Tuner software. Says not connected.Or is it under the left side cover?
First, you can't "see" your tune. There isn't a way to retrieve it from the ECU or VCI. Ask the prior owner if he has a copy of it. Have him email the file to you. You can then load it into your software and see it.
A simplified process flow for you. You create/modify a calibration. You then upload it into your ECM. During that process it copies it into your VCI (the orange box). Unfortunately there isn't a way to retrieve it from the VCI.
There should be a plug under the left cover to plug into. For now, you can see certain live data with the bike running. Or you can make recordings while you ride and review it later.

It's a great tuner, you just have to take the time to learn the functions. It allows you to change your VE tables, AFR, closed loop area, timing, decel enleanment, plus the auto tune function that gives you recorded data runs. I have used it on 2 touring bikes with excellent results.
I forgot to mention if a tune has been downloaded using the pro super tuner, the last download was recorded on the VCI, you can retrieve that tune from the VCI using the software. Also that tuner is married to your VIN number, once activated it is only good for your bike period.
When you open your software, click on the tuning fork, you will see 2 boxes on the top, 1 is stored calibrations, and right next to it is VCI. Once your have the VCI connected to your bike and the computer, powered up hit the VCI box and you should be able to open that tune that is on the VCI.
Thanks to all your help I was able to download the current "map" and save it to my PC. I found that someone, looks like a dealer, had previously re-mapped this bike for the modifcations made:

That answers the question I had as to whether or not someone just bolted this stuff on or took it to a dealer and had it professionally done. I haven't changed anything. Just looked at what's on the bike.
You can compare tables, working compared to original, to see what changes if any were made by the tuner. When you hit AFR table a box will drop down with working, last saved, and original. You double click on working and file will come up, drag original over to far right and see if any changes were made, my guess is yes to the VE tables and the AFR table. Good Luck.
Thank you PDZANI. I did that and I don't see any difference at all in the tables for AFR from "working to original". Now I just bought this bike so I'm not sure where the "original" would have come from. I had to download the working and last saved from the vci.
Thanks for the tip and I'll keep reading the manuals/help files and do a lot of reading before I attempt anything.
So far everything is 14.0 to 14.1 (10% ethanol) until you get above 3750 RPM then it drops to the 12.9 at 4000rpm all the way down to 12.5 at 6500rpm.
A little more research and I found that yes this is a tuning map that was suggested by the Super tuner pro software for my current engine A/C and exhaust setup. The only real complaint I have about the tuning is the decell poping and it even pops between shifts. Performance and mileage are outstanding from my point of view.
