NYARNG '98-present, one tour in Iraq...Hope all my brothers and sisters in arms had a great day- and thanks to all the Veterans who have gone before me!
Luckily, the weather in Upstate NY was nice enough to get a ride in today...
Thank you to all veterans. As free men and women we are in your debt. Lord knows if it were not for you most of us would be dead and the living would be speaking something other than English.
Sorry, I can't do "happy veterans day" no more than I can say 'Happy civil war day." Before anyone jumps on me for being anti-vet. I'm not. I am a vet - 1968 to 1972. When I look back at all the young people I've known who were killed in Vietnam or who have been killed in the endless recent wars and who where saved but must live blinded, crippled, mentally impaired, are not getting proper care, or are now committing suicide in record numbers, I am not in a good mood. the numbers are staggering. Sorry, I can't say "happy". Somberly grateful is what I'm thinking. No offense to anyone. Just where my head is.
I understand you brother but as both of us know war is a necessary evil. As long as man has been around there has been war. There will continue to be war until we leave this earth and then there will still be war after we are gone. Myself, my Father, my Brother, my Uncle Bob, and now my nephew are all Marines. Nobody likes war but when the wolf cries at the door its time to kick some ***! "People sleep peaceably in their beds at night due to rough men willing to do violence on their behalf". I love that fu*#ing quote. Nobody likes war but thank God...Yes i said GOD! there are people willing to defend our freedoms. There are 3 types of people in this world. Sheep, Sheep Herders and wolves. Happy Veterans day to all the Sheep Herders and Semper Fi and Happy Birthday (November 10th) to all my brother Marines..
I'm with you friend. I"m glad things are good for you and your family and don't disagree with anything you have said. I wasn't a Marine. But - Semper Fi.
Happy Vets Day to all; 23 yrs 6 months as an Air Force Helicopter crew chief, flight engineer, Maintenance manager and instructor in the Rescue and Recovery field.
