I hear a lot of good things about CFRs, but I hate to buy something without hearing it first. I heard a guy fire up his bike at a dealership last weekend, and asked him if they were CFRs. He told me they were the DNA Megaphones, but they're the same thing/sound as CFR. Anybody else have a comparison? DNA Megaphone = CFR? He also had them hooked to V&H Power Duals which is what I already have. They were pretty loud. Nice & deep. I liked 'em.
Never heard the DNA slipon's but I do have CFR's. If they do sound like CFR's that will be a first for me. I've yet to hear anything that sounds like the CFR's, especially when referring to the deep low rumble.
They do sound like cfrs .. Not as good but close.. I had a set,for about 12 miles. They were really annoying.. But they were pretty cheap. Sold them to a member who likes them.. Sound is subjective

They were pretty loud, but the nice, deep rumble. Are CFRs that loud? I still gotta hear some CFRs!
Cfrs sound badass.. I've only heard them Idling though.. The knock offs had a weird sound during any full throttle runs, combined with the pv and true duals. I have a thread about it if u care to look for it.. Its kinda hard to explain but for me on my bike I didn't like them.. Same pipes on another flhx and the new owner likes them. They have several videos of both on YouTube but the sound quality isn't always the best as most people tend to snap videos inside a garage
I have DNA Megaphones on my Limited, which is stock. They sound awesome. Wife thought they were too loud, so I opened them to add a sound deflector I fabbed. I was surprised to find a stainless mesh wrap protector around the baffle, which doesn't have as much taper as the mufflers outer case.
I put up a YouTube video, but they sound quieter than in person.
DNA megaphone's are in one word "**** slip-ons" ,....way too loud ,...and sound very ugly.
I had to install a pair of home made baffles in it ,....now they sound pretty good , but it took a lot of work
I have CFR's. Let's dispel the myths of CFR's. They're not the loud deafening mufflers that the internet makes you believe. They're actually a deep bellowing sound.
A guy I used to ride with was cheated and bought those knock-offs from someone on the internet. As I understand, he thought he was getting actual CFR's but those DNA's were shipped. They sounded decent for a few minutes up front but afterwards, they have an annoying sound which can't be compared to CFR's.
I'm actually thinking of selling my CFR's just to get something with more power but, I haven't heard anything which sounds anything like CFR's.
Here's a video of CFR's. This video really caught my attention and made me want CFR's.
