If ya having Fuelmoto do it, Might as well go big and get all ya can get. Fuel mileage be dammed.

Yes, there is never to much power! But I am not wanting to be on the borderline of too much power for the stock lower end and not willing to give up decent mileage and rideability of the smaller cams. Any other riders out there with numbers to report?

Ya really gotta be aware of the stock lower end limitations.... whatever they are. I've heard about 120 lbs torque is a good stopping point unless you beef up the lower end. Most of the touring cams with some head work will keep you in that range. I think your statement on rideability is spot on. Too much cam and/or too much head work like large ports and valves could negatively affect touring ability.

I really don't know what I am getting for fuel mileage with the 888's because I'm still running the autotune, so that throws your afr to 13:1 when your running it. With the cams I had in it previously I was averaging 42 - 44 with the highs being around 50 mpg. I suspect when I install the narrow band O2 sensors my mileage will again be in the low to mid 40's. And Oldhippie, where do you get off calling me stupid, I barely know you!

Here's my tman 107. Mild headwork. 58mm throttle body. The overlay is when I tested the MGS true duals.

Actually I didn't do headwork on my little 103 build because I'm also afraid of the lower end (and I'm cheap). Running Andrews 54s at 10-1, pulling 109tq/99hp over 100lbs from 2500-5300. Pretty nice, but am thinking of pulling it down and doing the heads??? I really think the crank is a crap shoot but have always thought 100hp was pretty safe? May even talk myself into doing the crank??? But really I been riding my stage 1 88" RK a lot lately and don't think I get anywhere any slower on it but am on the throttle stop a lot more. Oh yeah, I get crap mileage with all my bikes, cars, trucks, tractors???

Fuel Moto does tons of 107 builds with ported heads, builds that make ~120TQ, they dont recommend doing the crank work, so I wouldnt worry about it.
