Default Headers

Hi everyone got my 2012 Ultra Limited and now thinking about getting new headers, looked at V&H power duals, fullsac, fuel moto, S&S power tune duals. I currently have a new set of V&H 4.5 twin slash ovals and a stage 1 intake, just confused as with cross-over or x pipe would be the best option??????

The full sac,vh,fuelmoto are all X pipes an very similar. The S&S and Khromewerks are power chamber design and weigh a little less. Muffler choice will have more effects on power than these pipes will........

All depends on what you want to accomplish.

If you like corner carving, then stay with a FuelMoto or Fullsac. If you want an aftermarket look and reduced ground clearance, get the V&H.

Currently my favorite is the Fullsac Performance DX pipe. It almost perfectly splits the exhaust 50/50 per side. Pretty cool.

I have the FuelMoto ceramic pipe with full size X-over. It's a nice piece too.

As stated "full sac,vh,fuelmoto are all X pipes" with similar improved Performance. I agree, "If you like corner carving, then stay with a FuelMoto or Fullsac. If you want an aftermarket look and reduced ground clearance, get the V&H." True dual systems have less performance gain in "bagger world" but many like their sound and/or look better. S&S/Khromewerks are kinda'a cross between the two. I have to say going from stock '09 non-cat header to Fullsack Xpipe (with the same fatshoz slip-ons) made a significant performance and heat reduction improvement on my EG.

As said performance wise they are all about the same. It really comes down to looks and what you like. If you want the bike to look stock and no one to know you changed the head pipe then Fuel Moto or FulSac would be the option. If you want something that's going to stand out a little then the Power Duals would be your option. Both are going to sound much deeper and a little louder than stock. The PD with 4" Rineharts sound amazing!

I have the power duals and American Customs. Without baffles they are extremely loud.

On my '12 Road King, I installed V&H power duals, Ness Big Sucker air cleaner, H-D SEST tuner, RCX-Haust slip ons. Dynoed at 81 h.p. and 100 ft. lbs. torque. Very pleased with that. RCX's kinda loud. I run Rineharts half the time.

I went with the FM 2-1-2. Nicely built and welds look great. I went with the plain stainless steel model, no ceramic coatings. Heat shields fit nicely over the header.
