Just bought a 2013 Road Glide. First bike I ever owned with a cigarette lighter. I was wondering if I am able to jump start the bike using one of those cigarette lighter battery starters? Not sure if I should purchase one of those or not, I have been stranded before.......
Welcome and I wouldn't recommend it (plug-in starter)...better option is to get battery tender and keep it maintained/topped off. In time, you can tell when battery's getting weak...your 2013 should last 4-5 years until swap's needed.
Cig plug will not handle the amps.
Tender plug won't either.
Yousa jumpers for motorcycles available on Amazon, about $15.
Small, good clips, stow on the bike.
Clip to the starter, any ground; non running battery on other end.
Comes with a neat little bag, too.
I haven't tried it,but someone else said that the cig lighter is not in contact with battery with the ignition off. So,you can't use it for a charging plug in either.
