Question Screaming eagle air cleaner install

I'm putting a screaming eagle air cleaner stage 1 kit on a 2013 ultra limited. Directions say take the black bracket that goes from head to head off and discard, but pictures show it on there . Does anybody know if it stays or goes?

Put a cloth over the front of the tank to prevent dings, front wheel straight ahead. Loosen the rear tank hardware, lift and block up. More room now for removing the bracket. Easy to take off the Touring tanks...three bolts, quick release fuel line, and some hoses if more room needed.
