I would consider someone to be rich if they can do what they want to do, when they want to do it, and don't have to worry about whether or not the bills will be paid if they do. I am definately NOT RICH!

The best way to tell if your rich is to look at the plugs...black and sooty means you should back off on the fuel in the 2000-4000 rpm range (using your SERT, of course)

I think about all of it has been said.
the term you guys are looking for is BROKE.
broke on higher level ( if you are living from paycheck to paycheck)
the people i respect the most are the ones that lived through the depression , and they don't have to tell you as it is in the way they live. save everything news papers and all LOL. kinda funny but i knew a couple that were millionaires but lived like they were almost out on the street.
i am working at not being broke at a higher level then i though hey why not ill get a new Harley and spend oh i think with all the adds and tax it should be about 28,000.00
i have a good career, my wife is not quite so happy about my purchase but she does know how she gets to stay at home all the time and take vacations and such so she goes along with it.
you guys that have a wife that is supportive of your habbit are lucky, and maybe rich.
you know rich is a relative term ( it depends on witch relative you are talking to)
in my family of parents and siblings i am wealthy, but i have alot of bills, kids, ex wife, and friends i help with my money.
every one has skeletons in thier closet of some sort.
so even the rich give up something to have something else.
no ones life is perfect, but i am sure some are better than others.
i don't blame any one for my problems and i wish no one would blame me for my money.........
this bike helps me keep my sanity so i can work to make all that money.
i wish all of you great riding this season, welcomed sights, less problems in your life, and health
god bless all

The guy living in a box under the bridge thinks I'm rich, I think the guy living in a mansion a mile from me is rich, he thinks Donald Trump is rich.........who knows
Gary D.
Hehehe...I used to live in a box under a bridge, really! And in a park and in the street...Bad choices and good booze put me there. That was a long long time ago. I pondered this RUB thing before I bought my first HD, not a new one but a used 05 RK. I knew I may be labeled by some as a RUB. Actually my wife bought me this ride for my 50th birthday, knowing I wanted one for years. I guess she made me a rub! I can afford this pleasure and no matter what kind of income I have (it is pretty good) and what I wear during the week, (mostly suits) I guess in some minds I will always be a rub, but hey, I been called a lot worse. I am no different on weekends than I am Monday to Friday. I only dress up during the week because that's the 'uniform' of my profession. I never owned anything that said Harley on it before I bought this bike. I now own 2 T Shirts, a leather jacket, some gloves and chaps. I will NEVER trailer my bike though, so maybe I do not qualify. I have a dear friend, he is worth perhaps (liquid) 10 to 15 million, no kidding. He is such a slave to that money and power, you couldn't give it to me. He owns 6 car dealerships and works 10 hour days 6 days a week. I prefer to spend my time riding, with my daughters and with my wife and friends. My wife and I have 5 girls (4 still home and in private school), a mortgage, a pool in the back yard and some nice "things". I fthings go well the rest of the year< we will buy a vacation home later in the year. God has blessed us richly with our health, good kids, great friends and families and some money to enjoy the things we like. We gave away last year much more than my scoot is worth. We will continue to give and sow into other paople's lives. We are by no means wealthy, but compared to my 'bridge dwelling days', I sure am. I like to say I am a millionaire in life. I work for a living, but I really enjoy what I do and look forward to it most days. If I didn't have to work, I probably would do something similar to what I do anyway because it is gratifying to give back and I believe that is what we are charged to do with our excess. Money is ONLY GREEN PAPER that we assign a value to. If it were pink or blue would it be worth anything? I try more than anything to be a master of my gifts, rather than let them master me. That in itself makes one wealthy and wise. Today I try to help the guy in the box, and I genuinely do not envy the guy in the mansion.
Peace,
Mike

Someone please delete this entire thread due to graphic bigotry, gut-wrenching testimony of what real "riches" are (yawn),and just dumb comments.

It's all relative I guess. I work at a car dealer(I do IT work)& we recently had a customer buy a $32,000 Volvo that I expected to be a cash deal.

This guy is a Nuero Surgeon, makes over $600,000 a year & his wife makes another $140,000. When the guy handed me a credit app(he has an 840 credit score), I was surprised he was considering financing the car. He then asked me "what is the absolute longest term I can get for financing??"

He settled on an 84 month car loan with the first pmt deferred for 120 days to get beyond the end of a lease he was paying on another vehicle.. When I reviewed his credit history, the guy has never been late on a pmt of any kind, but he sure does have a TON of those pmts due every month(leases, three different mortgages etc etc etc).

This guy works his *** off & probably doesn't consider himself rich............
