had it happen to me as well on my 08 Ultra.......sweeping right hand bumpy curve and going about 20-25 over.....bike leaned over and it started to wobble....when I finally got it slowed down I was already on the wrong side of the road shoulder......scared the living **** outta me.....never did a curve again going fast on that bike......got a 2013 now and it seems fine

Well if you bail off, you guarantee an accident! So that isn't wise IMHO. Jumping on the throttle in a bend doesn't have a promising outlook either, and I'm not a fan of using the rear brake on its own. You will survive the experience, especially if you allow yourself to react naturally, which is most likely by easing off the throttle.

While there are a few reported accidents, wobbles are most often brief, give the rider an OMG moment, followed by 'what the heck happened there?!' In all but the most severe circumstances the bike will sort itself out, often with no significant input by the rider. It will be rather like that brief wheel slide on a wet road, which has happened and become history before we realise all is well again.

You may never experience the infamous wobble, so ride on relaxed and enjoy yourself. If you want to learn more about it, read my post on the causes of it, here. It would help if it had been made a Sticky!

Default Wobble

Had it happen to my 05 EG in a left sweeper. I let off, and before It quit I was a hair from hitting the gravel shoulder, not a good thing. There was areal strong side wind that day, don't know if that was a factor or not. It scared me enough that it took me a while before I went back and hit that curve again at the same speed and it went through like it was on rails. I always think about that day when I get those little normal shakes.
