I want XM radio on my bike. I have a 2014 Street Glide with the 4.3 radio. I already have a subscription in my car. What is the easiest and cheapest way to add this to the SG?
harley sells a kit $$$ but you can control the xm with your bar controls
or you can add your own reciever- I use a delphi with a car mount modified with 2 clamps for the bars...and run audio into the front of the radio aux in ( or use a FM modulator ( $75)
these run about $100 or less on the used market.
mine is mounted on the left side and I can thumb the channel buttons- or sometimes i use the remote control, or my passenger does.
depends how much you want to spend and how much you care about some wires being seen.
some gps units can also stream XM- I use maps so I dunno.

I installed a 12v cig lighter in the dash to plug in my Audiovox Express EZ XM unit, then installed ( pop rivet ) a fender washer on the left bag leather flap to attach the magnet mount antenna. Purchased an antenna from ebay that has a 4' cord. Insert the portable XM head unit under the right hand dash bag, insert a 1/8" pin connector to the factory HD radio AUX jack and tune to your favorite station. I have basically the same set up for my bass boat...I just move the XM unit in 5 seconds. The Express EZ is small and fits under the bag.....I believe they are discontinued , however EBAY has new ones listed. I've had this set up since 2008 on my SG...absolutely zero issues. Signal is NOT effected with antenna placement.
I have the Onyx I bought at Best Buy. I have the Hog Tunes Tweeter pod took the mount for the radio mounted it to the bottom side of the Tweeter pod on the left. The antenna I mounted under the fairing (on the right side there is a plate where the front speaker is) use a cig lighter adapter to power it and plug it into the Aux on the radio love having that much music where ever I go.
I have Sirius, about same thing as XM, I use the StarTach 5, mounted on the left side of the fairing. The antenna is double stick taped to the fairing above the right speaker. The wire aux. wire runs to the aux. port on the radio face for handle bar control of volume.
I have an XM Onyx also. I have mounts on the bike, in my truck, cruiser, and boat. One subscription covers it all. I mounted the antenna on top of the radio in the fairing and tapped power off the cigarette lighter. All of the wiring in inside the fairing. I used the aux input. On a radio with no aux input, I've used the XM FM modulator on my cars before and it sounds as good as the aux input does.
I couldn't find a mount I liked that would work so I ended up using the heavy duty velcro (plastic gator grip stuff) to mount the dock on the right side of the fairing between the speaker and volt meter. One mount note....the velcro is rock solid on the dock mount, however, the radio did shake around in the dock. I know put a big rubber band around the radio to hold it in the dock so it doesn't shake out on the road.
The OP asked about his subscription. Unfortunately Sirius/XM won't allow sharing of subscriptions and as far as I remember never did. So most likely you will have to buy a second subscription. One of the reasons I bought a Sirius Stiletto II radio that I use in the house, car and bike. One unit that I can use anywhere. Had to make a custom RAM mount for the bike to make it usable and it works great. You might want to look into a mobile unit that you can take anywhere and just have one subscription. I don't know if they still offer Lifetime Subscriptions, but I like that, no monthly bill and I'm way ahead of the payment game on monthly fees.
I added the sirius xm module to my 2014 limited. It was very easy to install but not cheap. If you do go with the module, be sure you call sirius xm to get 3 months free.
you can buy a motorcycle handlebar mount for you radio....it goes onto your handlebar.right near your clutch..hold the radio and also has a magnetic antenna and a spot to hold it on the mount. I had this on my Heritage...connected it to the battery....added speakers on the handlebars..and had a radio....I also connected my ipod to it...
