Joe, he's looking for a standard wrench to change the length of the shock, not adjust the preload.

VTL, the Ohlins don't use a standard spanner wrench.

OIC. Misread that one. I will delete my post since it was not relevant to his question. Thanks

My #3-3s are the same and I have successfully adjusted the overall length, using my current tools. I don't recall having any difficulty, but it was some while ago! The simplest way of getting in there would be with a thinned down wrench, or one as suggested by jefla.

Here in the UK a wrench IS a spanner!

Chuckle ... I owned an MGA once, so I don't even blink when I hear "spanner" or "bonnet". Course I don't blink at cars with level-operated oil-filled shock absorbers either!

Jefla, thanks for the pointer. My local Sport Chalet claims to have the 17 / 18mm one, the 17mm is the one I think I need. We shall see...

Update: Sport Chalet has the Parks 17/18 tool. Now I have buy that full set on Amazon, just 'cuz one can never have too many tools.

Thanks again for the help guys.

I have fond college memories of an MGA, and have owned two MGFs. They all had 'hoods', to cover the passengers, of course!
