If I understand you right, your trying to get the power from the Front light and its dragging down the circuit, are you sure you aren't only to be using that power to turn them on and off, not to Power the Grips?
I did the same thing on my '14 Ultra. Instructions were pretty much useless. They work perfectly.

Thanks everyone and especially GlidingJoe for the info and talking with me on the telephone.

I ran off to my dealer and picked up 69200722 and wired the grips to that. Everything all works now. When I was talking with the parts manager, he was clueless that you need that harness. Go figure!!!!

I also installed the Boss MC4000 speakers at the same time. Now the OL has heated grips and tunes. All back together and it's sunny and warming. Time to go ride!!

The 2014 Limiteds come with the heated grip kit. One of the wire looms from the grip plugs into the connector from the TBS, the left the other plugs into a wire connector that runs from the fender tip lamps. The only reason I know this is I just pulled the stock bars off my Limited to change them and found those wires under the fairing.

And that is what I tried on the RK and didn't work. Caused all marker lights to go out. You have to hook them up to the accessories plug.

The new CanBus system does have it's quirks. When I installed my Custom Dynamics bullet turn signal lamps, the dash light flashed like the bulb was burn out, the lights worked fine. That fix was to turn on the ignition, then turn on the four ways for 5 minutes, then turn it back off. the system learned the lights then they were fine.

That is correct that they use the fender tip light power source as the AUX power to trigger the handgrips, not actually Power the grips.. The CAN Bus cannot provide enough power using the light circuit.

WOW! I don't have a dog in this fight, but it was fascinating to watch this from a problem solving exercise perspective. I wish all forum members (this one and others) worked together online and on the road like this.

Good job guys. I may never us it, but I learned a lot.
