I just installed an DDM 35watt HID two bulb kit into a Dual Halogen headlight.
Light is awesome, but occasionally, the light shuts off when I fire the bike up.
I would like to just install a delay relay to kick the light on after the bike is up and running.
Has anyone here gone through with this?
I don't want to put a switch in line with headlight. I thought of that but sooner later I will forget and wind up riding with it off.
I have the Harley Dual Halogen headlight and don't have the option to switch to High Beams (turning off low beams) while starting because the Low Beam still stays on in high beam mode.
The inline capacitor is supposed to be for flickering while running, not to fix the extreme drop while starting a cold motor.
Has anyone installed a headlight delay? That's really what I'm hoping to find. Ive seen some people with Jap bikes running this setup and its pretty slick. You start the bike as normal and then 15-30 seconds later, the light kicks on!
Thanks Again!!!

Go to eBay and search for this relay.
DC 12V H3Y-2 Power On Time Relay Delay Timer 0~60 Second DPDT & Base Socket
It cost like $6.00 bucks shipped and works like a champ! I used it for the HID in my SG. You can set it to come on from 0-60 seconds.
lots of different styles-sizes to pick from. hope this helps
I like the idea of a headlight delay when starting up the bike; would this work for all headlights, including the OEM set-up? It would be great for reducing the electrical load until after the bike has been fired up.
