Dealer's Business License Tax - $36.99 (Shouldn't this already be paid for?!?! You had to have this to do business)
and
Administrative Processing Fee - $199.50 (Why should I have to pay an administrative fee...don't they have to pay the people doing the processing (or whatever they do on a daily basis) even if they don't sell any bikes?)
It is only $240, but its the principal. They gave a good deal on the bike -$1000 on MSRP, but are charging $800 in freight & set-up other dealers in the area are a bit cheaper.
Should I stop bitchin and just sign the papers. The OTD price is $19,756.62 on a 07 Blk SG w/security and cast wheels.
I am going to pick up the bike Saturday, and I just wanted to know If I should raise hell or not.
Looks like the dealer is getting the $1000 back pretty easy. Never heard of the business tax thing. What state are you in? I think I'd shop some more, but that is my opinion. SG are the hot set-up, so they probably won't think twice if you give them a hard time. Good luck.
In my opionion just 1 thing matters...the out the door price. They could sell you the SG for $1.62 plus a $19,755 administrative fee...end of the day, look at the bottom line.
i did not have those charges on my bike, but the price does'nt seem too bad. i paid 18300 for an o6 sg plus 705.00 in tax when i got the tags. hell thats 19000, and your getting bigger motor and 6 speed, but i would question it
Vivid black MSRP $18295, Security system $325, HD shipping (dealer cost) $335= $19955 so the OTD price of $19756 means the dealer is eating the prep and about $200 of his profit from the MSRP. It is fair to say you are not raping the dealer but he is not doing you either. I say get out there and ride. Within the first 50 miles you will have moved on. IMO
I hate documentation fees...some charge $199. The car/motorcycle dealers use to charge this in Arkansas. Rediculous! I'll be damn if I pay someone that kind of money for paperwork. And if the monthly payment is less than that....the deal was off and I would walk out. My first vehicle payment was NOT going to be to pay someone to do the paperwork. By law...that finally went away.
Business Tax.....I would say Hell no to that.
I can go with the prep. fee....but that is it! Any other fee they come up with...I am walking out the door.
Sales Tax-fine...law is the law
I personally question EVERYTHING before I buy. If we agree on a price...then they add the fees...I am walking out.
I left the dealerhip world for better. I put up with their crap long enough while the dealer is getting rich...and screwing the customer. Thanks for letting me rant...dealer fees really **** me off!!!!!!![:@]
