Default ABS Wheels

Can non ABS wheels fit on ABS bikes and work with ABS? I have a chance to get non ABS wheels cheap and want to chrome them. What do I have to do to put them on my ABS bike? {2009 Ultra}

Yes. You will need to install ABS bearings in the Non ABS wheels. A front wheel takes the ABS bearing on the left front, a rear wheel takes it on the right rear, 1 bearing per wheel. Harley is the only manufacturer of the ABS bearings.

The internal spacer is different due to bearing width also. Your dealer should carry an abs wheel bearing kit which will include the spacer.

Could I just use the ones from my stock wheels?

You could but I'd get new bearings. Peace of mind.

The spacer is different and from what I understand it will not fit. I just bought a set of wheels and they have abs bearings in them and need to go nonabs

Yes you can use the spacers (internal and external) but I also agree to go with new bearings.

Install the ABS side first, insert the internal spacer, install the non-abs bearing just until it touches the inner spacer. Bearing bores should turn freely and smoothly.

Like Low Joe said the Internal Spacer is the same. It's the outside spacer that's different.
On an ABS bike the sensor (front left or rear right) is the actual spacer.
