With denim you get what you get and I hope you get better results than I did.
Damn...and thank you. I'm ordering my CVO bags in BBP next week. The only thing more expensive than ordering Harley parts is finding a painter that will spray anything in BBP, and match it, for less than $600.

Default HD painted parts

I have ordered a chopped tour pack and a new front fender. Both averaged 8 weeks. My bike is an anniversary color so not sure if that impacted the time or not?

Just picked up my chopped tour pack in vivid black, part #53111-96DH. The inside of the top was unfinished and had a fair amount of black overspray. 2 questions. Is that correct that for $849.95 they don't paint the inside of the top ? And what's best to get off the overspray so it at least has a clean unfinished look? Thanks. Dean

Did you buy the CVO bags new (paint included) from HD?

The inside top of my tour pack was also not painted, basically just the gel coat finish. I left it alone but did add the liner kit for the bottom half of the tour pack. If your top has overspray, not sure if a paint thinner or a MEK would cut the over spray or not? You could also go to Walmart auto dept and get a trunk liner fabric kit and some 3M spray adhesive and cover the inside of the top with material. For what HD charges for their tour packs one would think they would be fully lined on the inside like the ultra classic has from the factory instead of just a bare shell?

That's exactly what I received, and I also bought the bottom liner, which looks great. It would have been nice if I had an option to have them paint the inside top. Not a big deal but disappointing, as you mention, with what they charge. I had the dealer pop it together with the Airwing rack and some non stock hinges. I'll check into the fabric kit. I had thought I was buying a complete product for the $1500 just layed out, guess I thought wrong. Oh well, that's Harley for ya...

My local dealer is in the process of rebuilding my crashed Ultra Classic.
The painted frame from Harley took around 3 weeks to arrive.
Most of the painted bodywork took 4-6 weeks, a few parts showed up 8-9 weeks after they were ordered.
