Socialist state of California? I like freedom too much for that. To many welfare leaches, and too few gun rights. I would say more but I am getting more P.C. in my old age.
Where in CA? It's a huge state. Narrow it down a bit and the guys here that are in that local area can chime in with the most accurate opinions.
In San Diego the cops pay little to no attention to cruiser/Harleys unless you're drawing attention to yourself. The crotch rockets are watched more closely by far than Harleys are (usually cuz of hotdogging around/hauling a$$). Don't ride like a fool and avoid obnoxious pipes and you'll have no problems.

Gotta agree with you here. It appears to me that up here in Sac area Police LEO's really watch the crotch rockets for that reason

Yea, that scares the heck out of me also, I have a few weapons, and I have aways had a carry permit although I don't carry it often. And Nancy Pelosi and her fan club do rub me wrong. But if all went well it would be over 30,000 a year raise. Kind of hard to say no to that.
Ride your bike with Indiana plate until it turns 7500 miles or more . I bought mine in Illinois brand new . rode it for a year 14,000 miles then get it registered .Also my advice Use only a DOT helmet .if you get stop ,like beating the red light or speeding .they will check Loud pipes + non DOT helmet will cost you around an easy $500 + your violation . good luck, .
I agree certain cities they pretty much lay in wait on the dot helmet then pick your bike apart. They haven't started the smog on bikes but i believe it is just a matter of time.

Used to live in Ca., that extra 30K won't mean that much after the higher taxes, insurance and general cost of living suck you dry.
That is my home town we are still cowboys here . Cops, sheriff and hwy patrols are very friendly unless they are provoked then they will shoot before asking question. We have very strong HOG chapter and one of top notch HD dealer.
