TOMORROW:
2014 UK Model Street Glide goes into the dealer for:
1) GPS Zumo fitment
2) Lighted switches with PTT button
3) CB radio install
4) Wired Intercom using CVO tank console parts
5) Truck Lite LED headlamp
6) Saddlebag Guard Rails
So.....have given the dealer all the info from Scott and NC Bondsman.
will let you know how it all turns out.....especially if the dealer can either flash the radio or wire the passenger/rider headset speakers for the Intercom.
Definitely keep us posted. I have the lighted switches coming. It has the PTT switch and maybe there is a wiring issue where it has to be connected for intercom to work. Find out soon enough.
Subscribed! I like to see if this works also.
I just installed the lighted switches and when I push the PTT switch, I get a message on the radio CB not installed. Don't think you need any wiring.
Well is a BIG no go. There is still no Flash for the 2014 SG 4.3. NC Bondsman you were spot on in suggesting that the only way meantime for the passenegr/intercom to work is to wire the headsets together, but the wires are very thin and there is the risk of breakages.
Interestingly the Dealer advises that the Radio Flash is not Bike Model dependent, but radio dependent ie the Flash will work on the 6.5.
It seems that I will also have to swap out my 2013 Tour Pak for the new model and purchase the individual pieces of the the rear Tour Pak speaker pods to enable volume control.
So I at least now have my CB Radio (Thanks SCOTT), Zumo GPS and LED Headlamp.
I have emailed HD Customer Services to ask when HD are going to offer a solution, hopefully lots of guys are doing the same and the pressure will jolt HD into supplying a fix.

Maybe I'm missing something but isn't the 4.3 standard on the Ultra Classic and doesn't the Ultra Classic come with the Rider/Passenger Intercom as standard equipment. If so that would mean that the 4.3 radio is capable of having a working rider/passenger intercom.
Hey Guinea Pig..you may well be right...if so, NCBondsman is also entirely correct in that it is solely a software problem....was just reporting what the tech at the delearship said in respect of flashing the radio.
If you look at the harness coming from the radio (mine is the 6.5) and follow the schematic in the back of the service manual, you will see the wires for the rear headset speakers. The problem lies with when the bike is connected for the flash, the computer identifies it as a street glide and only makes available the street glide flash version to turn on the front headset speakers. Because that is what HD will allow you to have at this time.
Look at an Ultra, or if somebody wants to chime in that has one. When you plug in a headset in the front port, start talking to activate the intercom, while talking turn the volume up, the display should read rear volume with the level bars and would increase the volume of the rear headset. Activate intercom while speaking in the rear headset, toggle the volume, and it should say front volume.
Someday HD will or should make it available. Personally,I think I would just use the Bluetooth headsets, like the SENA SMH10 (rider and passenger), with my modular on longer trips for intercom and just use the cheap ebay behind the head plug in with the ak-88 (rider only) for local trips. I still have my passenger plug still attached and tucked away in the rider backrest slot just incase they make an appropriate flash available.
UPDATE :
Bike back from dealer yesterday; installed Zumo 660, Intercom, Trucklite LED Headlamp, Hand Controls with lighting, and most of the CB Radio.....still needs a harness.........did not have time to fully discuss with the Tech.....but was told not to try the CB ...........no headsets so can't try the intercom. The Tank Console with the 7 pin DIN connector (just like the Ultra looks real slick)....will be end of May before it goes back in for the harnesss....conjoining it with the 1000 mile service. But all sounds good. I have been in touch with one of HD Guys at their HQ here in the UK and it seems he has access to the panel/board of guys who decide about accessories options for the Street Glide. he is going to table my sugggestion that the FLHX/S has CB/Intercom as an option/accessory......waiting for a response.

I think the issue with the rear headset speakers not working may be the lack of the PPT/vol switch like the ultra has. When I disconnect my tour-pak and then reconnect it, the passenger has to speak into her mic and push HER volume control up each time to turn her headset speakers back on.
I've been working on a passenger headset connection for when the tour pak is off. I've got a 7pin intercom connector wired correctly into the passenger headset wiring. The passenger headset speakers are off and there is no way to turn them up (which sounds like your issue as well).
I've ordered another passenger PPT/volume switch. I'm going to wire that into the appropriate spot on the passenger intercom wiring. My hope is that then the passenger will be able to turn on/up her headset speakers.
I'll post here my results. If this works, I suspect it will be your SG solution as well.
Been gone and working too much lately, but saw this thread pop up. I just had my 4.3 radio replaced under warranty, it apparently went totally berserk finally.
I noticed that when I was going through the settings I now have the option for "rear controls" which I did not have before. However I only have a regular Street Glide with lighted hand controls and single rider comm cable and CB. Just thought I'd show you guys that it is now there and I am able to select it. I have no intention of adding a passenger intercom set.
