All I know is that after cutting a window and doing it that way I see no possible way to get it all out, especially the lower section to the crossover.
That material is one tough sucker! I would like to see a pic of a pipe that was drilled out then later had the window cut out to finish it just to prove who is wrong. If I'm wrong I can take some crow..

^- +1 i have done several of these and they are a pain in the *** to get out with a huge window, i can see drilling holes in it, but no way to get it all out without cutting an access, no way, it is some tough stuff that takes about 10+ min to remove completely with the window can not imagine how a bit can get all that out

Please help me to understand this swap for $125. Surely there's more to it than me walking into your shop with my header, handing you $125 and taking your header home. I'm asking this because this costs around $40-$50 at a local welding/fab shop.

SBates, thank you for your patience, I am sure you can understand that this is a very busy time for us in the shop and i have a 1 year old and a wife that is due any day so my response time can be a bit hindered ensuring that i am giving priority to our customer inquiries and keep up our week-2 week turn around we have been able to provide so far this year

As far as our swap, that is 100% what it is, the welding and cat removal takes us about 2 hours to complete, everything is cleanly Tig welded, then cleaned up and packaged. Can you find a welded that can do it cheaper, maybe, can you find a shop that will even remove this, maybe. We offer this service here to our customers that are looking to get coating work done and do not want to have to bounce around from shop to shop to have things done. This way they can use us as a one stop shop, have professional quality work on their ride and know it was done right. If you have any questions at all or would like to see any samples of our welding or custom metal fabrication we are happy to provide this. Thank you for taking the time to reach out to me.

It's not a problem I'm sure your a very busy man. Was just curious about the cost and what all that entails. I took my header to a welding/fab shop that I had never used before but came highly recommended. I watched him cut mine out via the window method and tig welded back together in an hour. Cost me $45. I'm sure your an upstanding fella and I know your shop does good work because I've seen it here in the forums. It just seems to me to be a mighty high price to pay for a catless header and taking the customers in on trade as well. Not trying to bust your ***** at all, but if I'm misunderstanding something here, chances are others are too.

I got $125 including shipping and I did the surgery myself back when I bought the bike, with a complete cleanout of the honeycomb not just driiling a hole thru the catalyst. Guys dont buy one unless all the junk has been removed from the center.
