Default Do you go 200 miles before fill?

OK, I'm satisfied with the answers I got from the group regarding inaccuracies of the fuel gauge. So if I did my math correctly and believe the owners manual, If I'm getting 53 mpg, and "use" 4 of the 5 gallons in the tank, I should be able to go 200 miles easy regardless of the gauge or the fuel low light. Agree? So how many of you go 200 + before stopping?

I don't get but in the low 40's...pretty much what the bike was rated at. If you are consistently getting 53, you are doing great.

Do I go 200 miles before a fill? NO. I average right around 40-42 mpg, mostly in town riding. It is probably higher on the highway, but with a 5 gallon tank, I am not gonna push the issue, just to see if I can get 200 miles on a tank.

I usually stop at about 160-175 and fill up.

If I am driving around town I don't usually get 200. If I am out on a trip I can get a little over 200.

I was getting high 40's. Then I changed pipes,Stage 1 SERT Cams Fuel Processor, etc. I now get mis 30's if I keep it under 80.

I am actually thinking of buy a new Harley and leaving it stock!

Man I've been getting around 43 taking it easy and stopping around 180 miles. That was with stage1 and rhinhearts TD's. Now I done a 9.75 CR 98" kit with cams and head work. But I'm hoping with the ThunderMax that I don't lose much on milage. []

My 1998 FLHTCUI gets around 53-54 on the highway while twoup riding. I have gone 243 milesonly once because there were just not any gas stations. I put in like 4.60 gallons though...I was just about running on fumes. The fuel light was on for MANY miles and I was beginning to panic.

I typically get gas 150-200 miles...I need a break anyway sometimes. I also feel comfortable around 200 miles anyway.

I average about 45 mpg and have gone to 185 miles when the fuel light came on, so I know I can get 200 miles or more on a full tank. However, the mileage can vary quite dramatically depending on speed and terrain. I usually don't push it till the light comes on. I fuel up at about 160 miles indicated on the trip, or about 1/4 tank. I find my Electra Glide's fuel gage to be fairly accurate. I guess I'm one of the lucky ones.
