Two scoots....a hot rod 94 FXSTC (bored .030 over, Weisco 10:1 pistons, SE heads, Andrews EV27, Jims Bid Axle lifters, Crrne Hi-4 single fire, Python IIIs and dynoed at 91 bhp and 99 Lbs torque)...that screamer gets a consistant 52 mpg no matter how I ride it!
'05 Ultra, Stage One (K&N filter, SE Slip on Touring mufflers, factory remap)...avergae mpg is 43.
The fuel guage is "iffy"...seems to stay on "F" to about 100 miles, then starts dropping most ricky tick! Low fuel light illuminates at about 170 miles and I usually pump in about 4.4 gallons.
No heat issues (even in Las Vegas heat in August!) and I honestly cannot see any difference in either performance nor mileage between 91 octane and 89 octane! (I have had to run 87 and 89 octane a few times on the Ultra and nothing changed at all!)
well out here in northern canada its about the same as all of you.160 to 175 miles.when the lights goes on i probably get 30 miles lefts before it reaches E on gage.On my 2000 fxst i was getting like 250 miles +.I think with that 6 speed tranny the gearing must of changed all have to talk with my friends most of them have 06 and earlier touring.
i usually fill up around 150, doesn't usually take more than 4 gals, but i don't like to take chances either. i was getting about 42mpg stock, but after the pciii, v&h, se ac, i'm down to 39-40. but thats a mix of city and highway riding. if i'm mostly on the highway, i get better, but i live about 50 miles from the highway...
i really don't know how accurate my fuel guage is, i never even look at it.
