Id change the head gasket to a MLS .030 for a bump in compression. Check your crank run out while you are in there.

Hadn't planned on going up top.....yet. You consider the head gasket a "nice-to-do" or a "need-to-do"?

I don't know dick about cams, but most of what I've read suggests these cams work OK with stock compression ratio. This is one of the reasons I selected the 57H.

Certainly not questioning your knowledge, just learning some new chit.

Thanks,

Sorry. Didn't think about you not pulling heads. A small bump in comp is nice but not worth pullin heads.

I went with the Zippers tensioners but again nice to do but not at all a must.

I think you made good choices. I'm happy with my 57H in a 2013 Road Glide Ultra. 109tq and almost 94hp. Nice powerband for touring, and no hot start problems.

Those are all great choices! If doing the work yourself you'll need at least cam bearing tools. I would switch out the PCV for a PV/TTS/SEPT and proper dyno tune but not a "must". Should wake it up some! Enjoy!

Everything has been ordered from about six different vendors for lowest pricing. Spent 775.00 including bearing installer/puller from Gary on this site.

Additional feedback, tips, advice more than welcome!

Amazing how quick $300 cam swap turns in to $800. I'm sure that includes the service manual (before someone else brings up). Keep us posted!!

Service manual was first thing I bought. How else would I know which is the oil drain plug and which is the tranny plug.
