Hope all is going well...can't wait till we thaw out here!
Will be flushing the brake fluid on a 2011 FLHX Street Glide with ABS.
Need recommendations on what brake bleeder to buy. So far the Mityvac (?) Vacuum pump bleeder is the only one I've seen recommended.
Also, any help out there from folks with ABS who have flushed their brakes. The manual says to use the HD machine to ensure air is out of the lines. Is there no way to service the brake fluid without paying the dealership to check your work?
Thanks for any advice and recommendations on the bleeder!
No your good. 08+ brembo's are all the same. When you take the old one out a little drop might come out. No biggie.
Thing bleeds rock solid in about 6 seconds. Just keep the reservoir full as you pump. Some guys are old school and say they stick out a little higher. I think it's minimal. Makes bleeding a one person job as well.

Hmm..speedbleeders. The website doesn't include '11 FLHX...only '10.
Anyone else had experience with these? The website says to remove bleeder screw...will that let fluid out? If so, doesn't that defeat the point?
Thanks for the info! Learn new things every day!
Cheers,
Skippy
Yes on the experience, no on it letting fluid out….not unless you are pumping the brake (which you won't be during install)
Speedbleeders eliminate the need for another person or some kind of vacuum machine to perform the bleeding process. Plan to bleed right after you install the speedbleeders in the event there is a pin head of air at the base of the speedbleeder when you screw it in.
All the Digital Tech does at the HD shop is cycle the abs module in the event there is air in the module. It does not "bleed" the brakes.
You should contact them (speedbleeder people) for fitment, but the bleed nipples have not changed on the Brembo calipers in the last few years. Should be no problem fitting your bike.
I use speed bleeders for all my disc brake vehicles (including when I work on my parent's cars) because they make it so darn easy. Cheapest investment to save labor time I can think of.
