Told my wife this bike will only get changes needed for safety and necessary performance or heat reduction. I haven't found a think I wanted that didn't fit nicely into one of those categories somehow.
I picked up my 13 Limited a month after they came out knowing that I wanted to do a few things to it.
255 cams, V&H Power Duals and a SERT w/ dyno. Got that done and other than floor board inserts and few doo-dads it's done.
Totally happy..certainly no more engine work. It runs and rides just as i want.
8500 miles on it now and I couldn't be happier. Bone Stock just didn't cut it for me.
Good on ya for the stock option. I have 2 friends that trade every 2 years and they keep them factory stock. It's all good.
I love it quiet, and clean looking. Harley makes such a good bike, why yall always messing it up? I dont have an overheating problem, I get mid 40s mpg. I dont need it to sound like a Harley because it IS a Harley. Crazy fools.
Good for you. You should do whatever you want to do with your motorcycle or as in your case, do nothing to change it from stock. I do take issue with your comment that those of us who do add to or tweak the bike because we want something different are crazy fools. The beauty in owning any motorcycle is that you can do as much as you want or as little as you want and make it your own. And we all know that we believe that one of the best motorcycles in the world is the one that we currently ride.
Gregd I to have a 13 ultra I did the same set up with the exception I did v&h true duel the cam made all the difference in the world I would venture to say your few odds and ends will turn into painted inner fairing / rims /chrome inner primary cover ect. Did with me anyway lol
I tried that route...just can't have something everyone else has...Good luck!
Actually, I think a totally stock bike would put it in the minority catagory and be totally different from the rest of ours. After all, what kind of post is most placed on this forum? One that starts out with "what would you do?".
