I actually broke the paddle bit and an extender. I ended up using a long wood bit I had laying around. I used a drill extender with a wire wheel for final clean up.

When I drilled out my cat with the paddle bit I didn't remove the header pipe from the bike, I only removed the right muffler and crossover.

Correcto mundo...you'll never clean the CAT out without cutting the pipe and then re-welding. I did my 2011 Ultra (and you can get it all out, just takes time and sweat) and it ran like crap, so I went to HD and bought new pipes (they sell 'em cheap as they are take off's from new bikes) and got it back to running correctly. Sold my non-CAT pipe on ebay.
