Hi, Long time lurker, first time poster. I have a 2014 Limited as well (4th ultra since 2007), and can explain the trip summary a little bit after messing with it a bit yesterday.
The only way I can see it to work is to first "set a destination" in the navigation system. What I did was picked a Harley dealership that was about 60 miles from me with no direct interstate route between my current location and the dealership. I set out on my trip via secondary roads and the summery clicked off my stats along the trip. With cruise set at 60-65 mph it showed 52 mpg.
The only way to "reset" it would be to "stop" the navigation and then restart with a new destination. It can be the same one again, or a new one.
After I finished my visit there, I entered another dealership about 40 miles away into the navi and hauled *** on the interstate with cruise set at 80-85 mph. Stats showed about 41 mpg. Mostly stock Limited with SE road cannon slipons with tips.
Hope this helps shed a little light on your question.
The trip summary on my 2014 doesn't work like this. Just got back from Myrtle Beach, had the route in the GPS. Whenever I deviated from the recommended route or shut the bike off, the trip summary reset all by itself. I read the owners manual several times looking to see if there was a setting I missed but couldn't find one. Anyone know if there is a way to make it track the whole trip?
