I'm trying to figure out where to get midnight pearl paint for my 2013 SG. I'm going to have my buddy who is a painter paint the inner fairing for me, but the Harley dealer said they can only order touch up paint, not an actual quart of it or anything. My buddy said he could have their supplier match it, but I would like to have the exact paint that is on the rest of the bike.
Go to a different Harley dealer. I just bought paint from mine by the quart. Also, if you have more than one dealer in your area, this is an item that pays to shop around. I have 3 dealers within 80mi, and there was a $100 difference between them.
had a aftermarket fairing painted. ordered suede blue pearl from harley. the painter i used milburns in pasadena tx. told me to return the paint because he could match the paint himself cheaper. took my side cover to him and he matched the color perfect.
No, "black is black" is not correct! There are a lot of different colors of black.
My inner fairing and speaker pods are painted with a Chrysler black paint code. Another member on here sprayed his pods with a rattle can bought from a hardware store. And you can't tell the difference. Black is black, unless you start getting into pearls, flake or denim.
Thanks for the input guys. I have 4 dealers within 60 miles of where I'm at so I'll put the feelers out. Also, the bike is midnight pearl, so regular black would not match.
Mineis ember red so I went to the local body shop that sells ppg paint and got the exact color for $182. These tri-coats are expensive. Also Arnolds Motor Supply can get you the same color on Harleys
