I rode a Gold Wing for 13 years and waved at everything. Some HD riders waved back some did not. Never bothered me. Now I ride a 2006 Street Glide and I still wave at everything on 2 wheels. I even wave at kids on mopeds. Still some wave and some don`t. Still does not bother me either way. I am just enjoying the ride. Maybe those who don`t wave have more on their mind.
Ride Safe,
Mike
I was going to say that Gold Wing riders seem to wave to others on Wings. Back when I rode a Honda 550, it was a rare event if any one on a HD waved even though I would wave, then my next bike was an HD clone (Shadow 1100 ACE) with 3 lights up front and thenmost ofthe HD riders starting waving to me because they for the most part probably thought it was an HD. I'd say sport bikes and Gold Wings wave the least of all, the sport bikes I mark it up as too new to riding to know about the "wave".
I have an 06 Road King Classic and my wife has an 07 Honda Rebel 250. When I ride on Front Beach Road on my wife's Rebel, I usually don't get "the wave" from you HOG riders. Some of you "carelessly" wave and may or may not realize the "mistake" you made. Why do ya suppose that is?
Don't ya all know I'm still the same person and my bike is a Harley?
Sorry but some of us must decide if indeed you are "WAVE WORTHY"
Sometimes we just can't decide fast enough. LOL
A wave or a nod is the norm. Usually the only no-wave lookers are yuppies on Fat Boys or Road Kings, sportbikers and scooterists always return the nod or wave, just the less-than-500-mile-a-year status goofs ignore. They're disliked by all. One year, at a major ride, one of these clowns pulled up to me on one of my other bikes (my batwing wasn't back from the paint shop) and smirked "that one of them off-shore harleys?" When we got to the ride registration, all of the people giving me bro-hugs or handshakes while this 20 grand and a t-shirt "biker" lonely soul really thought about the big picture! Especially when I was asked about how my shovelhead project was going.
A friend of mine not only doesn't wave at everyone ... he only waves at what he considers to be "a true Harley rider."
.
and what the hell is a "true Harley rider" according to your Friendthat is??????
I also wave at everything on two wheels, LEO, and little kids with their nose pressed up to the window "looking" - never fails to get a big smile...

New to the 2007/2008 HOG membership is the "wave" clause, you guys need to get your manual and read, you might be in violation of waving and this could effect your membership.
