Adding a garage door opener is easy. Get a switch pack that has momentary switches, such as the CVO lock switches. Or use an aftermarket momentart switch and place it in a convenient place. Run a small two conductor wire from the switch to the garage door opener. I place my opener under a side cover for easy access.
On the opener, just open the back and look at the circuit board. There is a small button switch that is activated when you push on the opener...you need to solder those two little wires from your new switch to each side of that button switch...very simple. Then just notch the side of your opener case so it closes and doesn't pull the wires out. Every time you hit your new momentary switch, it will act just as if you pressed the garage door opener itself...works like a charm.

You will notice in the AUX connector 8 wires,
R/BE is hot at all times, BK is ground and V/BE is hot with Accessory & Ign. these wires are utilized with the above mentioned part 692000722.. The remaining wires are routed from the AUX switches in your dash panel. On the Left side cluster you have BE/GY for AUX lights, the middle switch will be LBE/GN which goes to the AUX connector as well as LBE/R. From the right side Dash mounted switch you have LBE/V, LBE/W & LBE/Y which also run back to the same AUX connector under left side cover.

If you acquire the harness 692000722 and ad socket connectors to it ( TERMINAL, SOCKET H.D. part # 72168-07) at the same position as corresponding wire colors above ( based on which switch position you wish to use, you can use these for the coil side of a relay and switch a device such as a heated seat or ???, You could then get your hot wire for your relay from the harness 692000722 using the R/BE or V/BE that you will see stick out of harness. Leaving you with an AUX plug for future if you like...

So in my set-up, on the Left Side of the Dash Panel (71400032) I am adding two of the H.D part # 71400034 to my existing Switch cluster and using the LBE/GN to active a relay for Seat warmer LO, and LBE/R for Seat Warmer HI. Adding the Switch Pack 71400033 to the right side of the dash panel I am using the LBE/V colored wire to activate a relay for garage door opener. NOTE: these switches are only rated for 2 AMP MAX......the reason I am installing relays vs directly wiring to device. I used 20 AMP relays that can be purchased any auto store and they are only little 1 X 1 X 1 cube relays.

I am hopeful that all makes sense.

Ohh, under the right side cover I found a nice place to mount relays, there is an area to the front of the bike next to your ABS module that is begging to be used..

Mind you I went and made wiring harnesses using Duetsch connectors and all making for a really clean installation but that is just me..
Joe
Hey Joe, I bought the push button (71400109) for my 2014 street glide. I am wanting to run my low beam headlight with it as I would like to run the Halo in the headlight as a running light. (not real sure where to wire the halo in either, possibly to the ignition or to the wire that powers the antenna?) I know that the low beam is the blue wire, is there a harness in the fairing pretty close to that or do all the wires run to the plug in the left side cover? I'm not sure what slot controls what wires as I don't have any schematics. Thanks for your time!

I made and installed my own garage door opener ... using a miniature opener and a miniature relay ... installed in the headlight housing powered by the high beam wire. cost ... $20.00 . I have made some for my friends ... they love it .

I have the Chamberlain myq and it's very easy to set up and use. I just hate how it's completely dependent to a network.
