Well took on the project of changing my bars. Always wanted a set of monkey bagger bars but hadn't pulled the trigger on a set. Last fall I tried my buddies bike and he had just changed his. Well I was shocked how much more comfy it was and figured i just had to do mine.
Today finished the install by getting the clutch hooked up at the trans, brakes bled and grips on. Now need to wait for mid march to test ride them. Stupid snow, suppose to be going to Florida for a week or so in March, made it to bike week last year but holidays don't look so lucky this year.
Anyways wanted to share. 10" MBB's and yes thats my ugly *** on the bike.
Those look good-I'm really tempted to get some a little taller for mine. Are your fairing mount mirrors still useable?
Mirrors aren't very usable, I think i'll be changing to some bar mounted ones hanging under the bars which work a bit better. That's what my buddy did, flipped his from above the bars to under and while still not perfect they are better. Think they would look funny mounted above the bars and fairing.
Looks good. I put the 10" monkeys on mine 2 years ago. They are definitely great bars.
Now like everyone says, I wish I went higher.
At least judging by the helmets in the background you have sleds to ride in the winter to get you by till spring.
Did the work at my buddies actually. I just sold my sled this fall, explains why were having so much snow this year. In past years just haven't been using it enough so decided sell and spend on the bike!

About how many hours did it take you to change them out?
If I had to estimate the hours i'd say it was 7 hours give or take a touch. First time tackling bars and I think did well but could be quicker if I did it again. Key was to go slow and not screw anything up! LOL
That is an awesome picture by the way!! Setup awesome.
