Yes looks very similar to the truck lite 7 I believe, can't tell you how well it works yet, but compared to the stock halogen which was decent, this appears to be a lot brighter, also appears since it is the reflector version it still has good off center visibility for daytime. And it does look like it belongs, the truck lite reminds me of a locomotive lite since it doesn't seem to fit properly, IMO, I bought it through kutter HD for 319.00. The projector type at angles appears to be off to me. When I was at the dealer they had both wired up and functional on the wall, the reflector type style just looked brighter. Although I believe the projector type may shoot out further, but have heard several concerns when cornering due to the width of the light pattern. After I added the dynamic ringz the stock headlight looked yellow, the color all matches now.

okay okay -- so I really paid attention to the lighting this morning on my way to work. I have installed the TL 7 headlight and TL 4 1/2 spots on my bike. I left for work at 6 am and its still really dark in the mountains on a decent 2 lane road -- with plenty of curves - the TL 7 on low beam with spots illuminated the whole road from side to even when cornering. So I don't understand why people say they aren't good for cornering.

I assume its the guys without spots that are doing the complaining.

Btw, it was 64* yesterday and the bikes came out. I saw two 2014 Street Glides going the opposite direction on the way home and the headlights looked weak to my eyes (yellow and dim,) compared to the other bikes I passed (JIMO.) One guy was riding with another older bike that must have had an upgrade...It made the '14's headlight look like a running light.
Surprising....and not easy to see if you're a car driver and not paying attention.

What kind of lights are the new bikes running nowadays?

I think you're right about the guys not running spots, but I think it's mostly folks with the projector style LEDs. I think most new bikes are running dual halogens stock.

How's your TL 7 light around curves without the spots?

I ran an HID in my Warrior. It was awesome... When it worked. I got it from DDM Tuning for about $50 I think. Within the year, it stopped igniting on start up. Don't know if it was the igniter, ballast, or bulb that went. I just pulled my bulb and went back to a Hyperwhite H4 bulb.

Just got the TL7 headlight and spots in the mail yesterday. Gonna swap them out this weekend. I don't anticipate any negatives. We'll see.

I was asked how the TL was without the spots - when I run the high beam and it is super - I can see side to side and a lot further down the road.

so I'll turn off the spots on low beam and report back

Another happy user of the TL units. Had them on my 91, 03 and when delivered, will put on the 13.

HIDs are bright but throw light everywhere without a proper projector lens. You'll blind oncoming traffic.

From the same website you reference:

I installed the HD Daymaker lights on my RGU. There is no way for me to accurately describe the difference. IMO spend the money for the HD unit and be done with it. Installed the Daymaker on my friends Electra Glide and again words cannot describe the difference. The description in the parts catalog is way understated. If $$ are a problem I would suggest replacing the headlight with the LED's. Another friend did the spots only and it is an improvement but far less so than the headlamp conversion.
