The S&S website states that you pull it out like a choke handle. These are the style that the tank is too close to the rocker box to reach. It is actually connected with a cable.
Not sure why your tank on an 09 would be too close. I have a 107 build and I put MCR's in, easy to reach down and push each one in before starting. They are located next to the plugs in the heads.
The 107 isn't the issue, I ended up at 10.25:1 compression which is the issue and why I went with CR's. What compression you running on that S&S build?
My S&S 107 came with automatic CRs. Push the starter button, engine starts, ride! After six years they are fine. What's the connection between a trickle charger and electric CRs, I don't get that?!
I put the part about the trickle charge so that I wouldn't get alot of responses to install one to save the battery. Just to save time.

Use S&S easy start cams no need to drill the heads or install compression releases, might be a cheaper route, only draw back is they sound a little funny when you shut down the engine sometimes
