Yes I am going to eventually. Just wanted to hear all the individual owners opinion about their R/K or their S/G.

I've owned both. Streetglide wins hands down. You'll find a whole lot of people UPGRADING to a fairing, but not too many going the other way.

Better wind protection. I have owned a roadking and my current ultra. The batwing gives much better wind protection and I find it more stable on the highway. Plus a tour pack will look way better if you opt yo add one. Plus I like all the gauges IE tac, oil pressure and battery voltage.

Only you know what's important to you. Gauges (what should my oil pressure be?), wind protection (fix this buffeting), stereo (ok a stereo wouldn't be bad) or the clean, classic styling of a King. Only you know. Like they said. Ride them both and decide. You really won't be disappointed with whatever you choose.

I would agree that the SG provides better wind protect IF you upgrade the shield to a slightly taller recurve like a Windsplitter or LRS Ultra.

I have both. The less wind behind batwing is less tiring on long haul but King looks better and is lighter around town. Of course the stereo rocks!

I prefer the close proximity vision on the King, and the low speed handling is quicker.Strip it down, and you have a street figher, add Recurve shield, fork deflectors, strap on touring luggage, passenger and rider backrests, and hit the open road in comfort. I am only 65,and after 47 years riding, still have no use for any other sound besides a hopped up V-twin. You'll love the touring platform, regardless of your choice.

I have ridden both and prefer the road king due to the fact that it has no fairing. To me it is lighter, more responsive, and better handling without a fairing.
