Meh...Spend the dough on the tool...Why use your fingers for such a simple task such as installing new exhaust gaskets...

Supprized you had to replace them. The can handle multiple pipe changes.

I reused mine a few times before I put in new ones. No leaks.

But it's "recommended" dontcha know. They can be a booger to change but like Soft 02 said...you can get multiple changes out of them.

You can make your own tool from PVC piping. 1-1/4 or 1-1/2" forget which. I made mine about 8 inches long. Heated and collapsed one side of the hand end to clear the front frame pipe. It'll cost you about $2 if you have to buy the pipe at the hardware store. Free if you've got it laying around at home.

I'm in the minority, finding installing the oem mesh gaskets to be a remarkably difficult job without damaging them. They do not want to just slip up in there on my bike. After something like twice screwing up the installation, I made the above tool and finally got them in without buggering them.

I've heard others use socket to get 'em in, too, but that's a big socket, cost you over $44, probably.

Well by all the fuss I clearly must have always installed mine wrong.
I would pick the old ones out and push the new ones in, install the pipes, torque, and torque again in a week after the weeks heat cycles.
