Believe the water cooled bikes have less need for a tuner than the air cooled.
Harley's water cooled bikes come from the factory already with more hp and torque than the others.
Having control of those hot spots in the heads allows for better control of timing and can run more compression and produce more power.
So, just adding better breathing might be where most of the easy and inexpensive gains are to be had.
A quick call to fuel moto should give you better insight than this forum, in this case.
After installing the SE ventilator air cleaner and street cannon slip one's I did the HD stage one download. Bike runs great. No pinging, not hot at all. The HD download is inexpensive and keeps your warranty in force. I'm sure their are better tunes, I did not see the need.
What is everyone's opinion on a fuel management system for a 2014 twin cool limited? I'm looking at a power commander V from fuel moto. Mods are only a screaming eagle air cleaner and 4" rineharts slip ons.
How about it fuelmoto....what do ya think?
It really depends on the specific modifications you are going to perform both current and long term. Dynojet Power Vision is the most flexible tuner we offer, it flashes the ECM directly, it features Auto Tune Basic with the factory O2 sensors, and it will support any mods you do to the bike. The piggyback tuners we offer such as the Power Commander V and FM Micro Tuner also offer great tunability and are especially well suited to intake and exhaust mods, they also carry a low price tag. We have specific maps for your setup with either of these products and provide unlimited prodct and tuning support. If you have any additional questions you are welcome to contact us
I say spend the money now for the PV, TTS, or SEPST now. That way you get a good flash tuner now that will do what you need and if you do decide to go with cams or something bigger later you have the tuner you will need both now and then.
