I guess it’s time to tell my story.......I took an unplanned 6 week vacation thanks to some jackass on the freeway. On the morning of Nov 7th while riding to work, a car cut in front of me, and slammed on his brakes. I can't say it was intentional, but there was no car in front of him. Needless to say,I went down at about 60 mph. My bike of course (2012 Road King) continued down the highway rider-less and committed suicide. I was wearing my halo and all appropriate safety gear, so my injuries were kept to a minimum. A couple of cars behind me locked up and one hit the median swerving so as not to hit the human bowling ball known as Shayba. I'm not sure I actually hit the car or not; witnesses told the cops I did. The perpetrator of course kept on truckin'. Due to witness statements, all was covered under my uninsured motorist so it was officially recorded as a hit and run.
I sustained a little road rash here and there, the biggest being the 6 inch diameter skin removal on my right shoulder. Both ankles were tweeked, but not broken. The right ankle is still a little swollen and painful. My biggest injury was the broken rib. Never had any broken bones before. That frickin' hurt!! I couldn't sit or stand without assistance. Good thing my wife's a trooper and could help move my girth.
Anyway, two weeks later I limped into the dealership and purchased a 2014 Electra Glide Ultra Classic and returned to the road. I believe Momma upped my life insurance again. Gotta go out SWINGING!!!
Glad you are relatively OK.... Going down on a freeway at 60mph and with only "minor" injuries! Then getting a new bike ! You must have a shamrock up your butt!
glad your ok. at least your in hawaii to recover. beautiful new scoot. enjoy and i hope the driver of that car gets to meet you someday. now thats a thread.
Wow, scary stuff. Good to see you're ok. Yeah, ribs hurt. When I went down I broke 5 ribs in 9 places. It hurt to breathe. The first time I sneezed after leaving the hospital, I reached for the morphine button, but it wasn't there.
