Default 02 sensor location..

Ok first off no I don't have a manual..I know I need to get one..Do the 02 sensors have a specific "hole" they go in? I used the search feature but I got minimal info. I really never thought about it until I heard a guy talking about it. I saw that someone posted they say B & G? I am putting an aftermarket head pipe on and the last pipe I put on ( stock 2 into 1 ) I didn't pay much attention to it, the bike has thrown no codes so I guess I got lucky? I will be running a tuner as soon as I can get it to the dyno. But I need to ride it to the dealer, so is there a specific way they need to go?

Yes the hole should should have a bung welded to it that the o2 sensors screw into. A bung is kinda like a nut welded to the head pipes. Some pipes dont have bungs welded on and some do. Some bikes dont have o2 sensors and some do

You need the bungs to be as close the the exhaust port as you can. But in a spot you are able to install and remove the OS sensors when the header pipes are on the bike. I think that's your question??

I know they screw into the head pipe, Is there a specific location on which 02 sensor goes where like front and rear?

On my bike the o2 sensor is right after the curve where the exhaust goes straight back

Ok so when and if you replaced your head pipe did you put each sensor back in a certain bung or does it matter??

I am guessing your bike is an '08? I believe it does not matter which pipe the sensors go in. At least on my '07 the front and rear are interchangeable and so are '08's.

Yes, it definitely matters front and rear. The tuner responds to each cylinders fuel ratio by the info from the o2 sensor.
First off, the rear one is shorter and will not reach the front.
When you plug them in under the side panel, you will notice a color coded band on the set that goes together.
